The GT should be dismantle and packed in such away, it should be reinstall in another place, and since the units were old and there were lots of changes in drawings and even some drawings were not available, so the main engineering scope was to taged everything and make it easy for reassembling the units.

The main scope was dismantling and packing and ready to be shipped of the Gas Turbine-Generator & auxiliary’s units. The outcome of the dismantling process of each unit will three main structures based on Frame 5B design as follows:

  • Auxiliaries complete in one baseplate
  • Turbine (compressor &Turbine) complete in one baseplate
  • Load Gearbox& Generator in one or two baseplates
  • Balance of Plant Components
  • Disconnection and removal of pipes, tubes for GAS, Diesel, Air and etc.
  • Disconnect and removal of transformer and all related accessories like, cables (Power, instrument, Data) connected to the GTS
  • Cooling water system
  • Fuel – Gas and distillate piping and flanges
  • Compressed air
  • Evaporator Cooler and associated parts
  • Removal of Air filters House
  • Removal of Air ducting and elbow
  • Removal of All inlet air piping, tubing, instruments not installed as part of the accessories baseplate to be removed, marked, labeled and properly packed.
  • Removal All piping work of connecting BoP and auxiliaries such as water-cooling system, fuels (gas and distillate) systems, atomizing air, lube oil, water wash, Firefighting Co2 tubing and pipes, ventilation and compressed and instrument air
  • Disconnection of all electrical wiring, cables from LCR and Auxiliaries compartment.
  • Removal of the roof and side enclosures
  • Disconnect the accessory gear to turbine coupling
  • Removal of Roof equipment, roof and compartment enclosure side, doors etc.
  • Dismantling and Removal of all pipes and tubing, gas lines, fuel distillate lines, atomizing airs line, cooling water lines, cooling air lines, electrical and instrument devices and tubing, Co2 lines that are not part of the Turbine base plate.
  • Disconnect the Turbine Load Gear coupling
  • All removed parts to be marked, labeled and packed properly
  • Removal of Roof equipment, roof and compartment enclosure side, doors etc.
  • Dismantle and remove all piping, tubing, electric caples and wires, instrument devices.
  • Secure/lock Generator rotor from rotation
  • All removed parts to be marked, labeled and packed properly
  • Dismantles all control cables, electric cables and wiring, panels and control cubicles and arrange for shipment/transport.

All removed parts, components, cables panels, equipment, components that are not part of the three baseplates to be packed in proper manner for shipment
